This time around, the Transformers franchise isn't just focusing on Optimus Prime but also on other alien robot clans known as Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons.
The planet inhabited by the Maximals is under attack by the dark god Unicron. They are trying to obtain the greatest technology of the Maximals, the Transwarp key, which can open portals through space and time.
Apelinq, the leader of the Maximals, sacrifices himself so that his comrades can escape before Unicron destroys them. Under the command of Optimus Primal, the Maximals use the key to escape to Earth.
Fast forward thousands of years, a former US Army technician named Noah Diaz is struggling to find a job. He's so desperate that he ends up stealing an abandoned Porsche.
