Sergei Kravinoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is a Russian immigrant who now resides in Russia. He is the son of Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), a Russian nobleman and ruthless crime lord.
Kraven is known as a dangerous hunter. He possesses superhuman hunting skills, including exceptional combat abilities.
The story unfolds with Kravinoff, also known as Kraven, being imprisoned in a remote Russian facility. This prison houses high-profile criminals, including gangsters from around the world.
Kraven’s arrival is not welcomed by the other inmates. He is heavily underestimated, as the prison is ruled by a handful of extremely dangerous individuals.
However, he quickly draws attention when he causes a disturbance in the yard. This action leads to a confrontation with the most powerful inmate in the prison—a gangster named Seymon Chorney.
The two interact briefly, as Chorney plans to kill Kraven. Meanwhile, Kraven introduces himself as a deadly hunter.
The confrontation is short-lived, as Kraven swiftly kills Chorney’s guards and then finishes off Chorney himself using tiger fangs. He then escapes the prison and continues with his next mission.
This mission stems from Kraven’s complicated relationship with his father. That conflict fuels his ambition for revenge and his drive to become the most feared hunter.
However, on this path, he must also face his brother, Dmitri Smerdyakov, a.k.a. Chameleon (Fred Hechinger), and Aleksei Sytsevich, a.k.a. Rhino (Alessandro Nivola).
